Victory for King Cobra MMA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!

All Americas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Tournament 2016On Saturday, January 23, 2016, King Cobra MMA students competed in the NABJJF All Americas Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, which was held in Cerritos College, in the city of Cerritos, California.

Eduardo Omar Lomeli placed 1st in his category by defeating his opponent by points scored during the match. Jonathan Palma placed second in his weight class and has now made it a commitment to place higher on his next competition.

The King Cobra family made themselves very present by cheering on our students during the fights. We had some of the members of our kids class watching the fights and enjoying the tournament.

Overall they had a great showing, winning two medals and coming very close to their opponents. This being their very first BJJ tournament, they now feel ready to take on the next challenge and win more medals for the school. They have set a high bar for the next competition and they will train twice as hard to achieve their goals.

I feel very proud to have competed in my first tournament and to have achieved first place in my category. Even though I didn’t place in the open weight category, I have learned a lot from this experience and will definitely use this knowledge in order to become a better fighter. My coach and my teammates were there for me every step of the way and I know we can all get better results for the next competition. – Eduardo Omar Lomelí
